NEMT dispatch software compared
NEMT dispatch software takes every ride you book, matches it with a driver and vehicle, works out the route, and lets you watch where your vans are on a map. We look at 16 platforms to see how they handle those jobs, what prices they publish, and which ride brokers each vendor actually names. A broker is the middle company that passes Medicaid and health plan rides along to transport providers like yours.
Dispatch, routing and scheduling side by side
Yes: the vendor's own pages or app listing describe it. Not listed: they do not mention it.

Find three platforms that fit your fleet
Tell us how many vehicles you run, which broker sends most of your trips and how you get paid. We will suggest three programs. Then you can ask all three for a free demo with one short form.
Find my three platformsWhat the software actually does for you
Most of these platforms can assign trips automatically, plan routes and handle repeat bookings, and all 16 offer live vehicle tracking. If drivers need to view trips and confirm pickups in an app, ask the vendor to demonstrate those tasks.
Which features does each platform list?
A "Yes" tells you the vendor's site or app listing confirms the feature. "Not listed" means nothing was mentioned, so bring it up in a demo. Multi-loading means a vehicle carries more than one rider at a time.
What does it cost each month?
Vendors that publish prices mostly bill per vehicle, monthly. Bambi, ZeitRide and DriveBoss instead count active vehicles, meaning the largest number of vehicles you had out on a single day the month before. A "starting at" price signals a base rate, and extras can push the final bill higher.
MediRoutes bills per trip instead: $150 a month plus 50 cents for each one-way trip, with one broker connection thrown in. At 300 trips that comes to $300 a month, and at 1,000 trips it's $650. Eight vendors post nothing that lets you price a fleet: TripMaster, WellRyde, Traumasoft, QRyde, NovusMED, NEMT Platform, Duet NEMT and AngelTrack.
Contract terms decide how easily you can leave. AngelTrack, Bambi, Duet, NEMT Cloud Dispatch, NEMT Platform, RouteGenie and ZeitRide all say you can pay month to month, so you're not locked in. DriveBoss also offers month to month, with 30 days' written notice to cancel. TripMaster runs month to month as well, but an initial training fee comes with it.
Do the routing tools differ much?
Not on paper. Route planning is listed for 15 of the 16 platforms, all but Duet NEMT, and all 16 list live GPS. Their own pages never spell out how a route gets re-planned when a ride changes, so ask to see that in a demo.
Will it work with your broker and billing needs?
When one broker supplies most of your rides, confirm the platform names that broker. RouteGenie names 29 brokers; MediRoutes comes in at 14, Bambi at 13 and RoutingBox at 12. NovusMED, QRyde and Traumasoft don't name any brokers on their pages. WellRyde names only Modivcare, which offers WellRyde free or at a lower cost for Modivcare trips.
If you bill Medicaid or insurers yourself, you need claim forms. The 837P handles claims electronically; the CMS-1500 is the paper version. AngelTrack, RouteGenie, NEMT Cloud Dispatch and NEMT Platform list both forms; RoutingBox covers just the 837P, and Duet NEMT just the CMS-1500.
Which dispatch software suits a small medical transportation fleet?
For 5 vehicles, NEMT Cloud Dispatch has the lowest published rate, $149.99 a month, and it waives setup fees at every tier. ZeitRide follows at $245 with every feature, unlimited trips and staff, and no fees for setup or connecting brokers. Duet NEMT stays free while your monthly trips remain below 100.
Questions people often ask
Can I get NEMT dispatch software for free?
Duet NEMT charges nothing below 100 trips a month. Past that, it bills by how long your trips take to drive and reports that most providers come in under $50 per active vehicle each month.
Will I need to download anything?
Your drivers install the platform's driver app on their phones, so ask the vendor whether it works on the phones you already use. Ratings from the app stores vary widely: DriveBoss gets 5.0 from iPhone users and 4.0 on Android, while Traumasoft sits at 1.8 and 2.6.
How well does the Bambi driver app perform?
The app scores 3.7 with iPhone users and 3.5 on Android. Bambi sells a single plan with all features at $69 per active vehicle, no setup fee and no charge for connecting brokers.
Is training part of the deal?
DriveBoss, NEMT Platform and MediRoutes include help getting started, though you may want to ask what training that covers. TripMaster charges an initial training fee. NEMT Cloud Dispatch lists a $95 hourly charge for custom work, not training.
